Man United have made their worst start in the Premier League ever under the Portuguese boss, with just 15 points in 10 games.
His side have also failed to score a single goal in the league for over 291 consecutive minutes.
Speaking after the game, Sutton claimed nothing has changed since last year.
“Mourinho has been a big disappointment,” he said
“He hasn’t changed much since last year as he’s blaming everyone else.
“Moyes and van Gaal were heavily criticised and nothing has changed, when you look at the likes of Liverpool and Man City they are miles ahead of Man United.”
It was a disappointing loss against Burnley and with 37 shots registered, Man United should have left Old Trafford with nothing less than three points.
His side have failed to remain clinical in front of goal and it comes as a combination of poor decisions from Mourinho and his players.
Mourinho can’t be solely blamed for his players failing to score, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffering one of the worst goal droughts of his career, but his substitutions did not help the cause against Sean Dyche’s side.
