Joel Pereira: My dream is to play for Manchester United

Joel Pereira insists his dream is to play under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

He is currently on loan away from Old Trafford at at Portuguese club Belenense and has made it clear he wants a chance at his main club.

Pereira was asked about returning to his Premier League club and has made his ambitions clear as he doesn’t want to give up on Man United, even though it may be difficult becoming the club’s No.1 goalkeeper.

“My dream is to play for Manchester United,” he said.

“I want to go back, of course. I appreciate the opportunity at Belenenses and to play, learn and evolve as much as possible. I intend to go step by step.”

With David de Gea to beat at Man United, there is a very slim chance of Pereira finding a place in the side, especially with Sergio Romero currently waiting as the club’s No.2.

He’s still at the start of his career and there are a lot of steps still in line for his development, but he has started well and put in some solid performances during his time at Belenense.

De Gea has been indispensable for Man United and unless he decides to leave the club, I don’t see anyone taking his place.
