Bastian Schweinsteiger’s return to training won’t save him from a January transfer – report

Bastian Schweinsteiger’s recent return to training with Manchester United won’t save him from a January transfer, according to reports.

Man United are hoping the midfielder will be fit enough to offload in January with the MLS a likely next destination.

He had been exiled from Man United’s first-team since Mourinho took over in the summer and was training alone after the Portuguese boss made it clear he would not be part of his future plans at the club.

It seemed like his Old Trafford career was getting back on track after he was invited to train with the first-team at Carrington last week, however recent reports claim he is still on his way out.

We are yet to see him in a red shirt at Old Trafford and although he’s been training with the squad, there’s an uphill task of trying to get into Mourinho’s stacked midfield.

Bastian made 31 appearances following his £14.5million move, but failed to stay fit with his injury-plagued debut season keeping him back from reaching his full potential.

He’s still a big influence in the dressing room and will undoubtedly be positively welcomed by players after winning pretty much everything there is to win in football.
