Manchester United face a tough test on Thursday in Istanbul against Fenerbahce. It doesn’t matter what team we are playing nor what competition it is in, playing in Istanbul is hostile and daunting.
Thursday will be no different against a Fenerbahce side who won 5-0 at the weekend, even if we did spank them 4-1 at Old Trafford. So, I do expect Jose Mourinho to adopt a deeper tactic similar to Liverpool away in order to remain disciplined in defence.
Schneiderlin coming in for Herrera would be a defensive move and to be honest I’d rather it didn’t happen but it’s a potential option for Mourinho. It’s counter-balanced by the introduction of Anthony Martial to add some genuine pace in attack but there is definitely an onus on the defence here.
Do you think Mourinho could set-up like this or do you expect there not to be many changes from the team which drew against Burnley at the weekend? Leave your comments below.
