Fenerbahce vs Manchester United: Confirmed travelling squad

by Sam Peoples

Jose Mourinho has taken a 21-man squad over to Fenerbahce for Thursday night’s Europa League clash in Istanbul.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is part of the travelling squad but Michael Carrick has been left back in Manchester which indicates he will be starting away at Swansea instead. Memphis Depay has also not travelled.

Here is the full travelling team: De Gea, Romero, Johnstone; Blind, Jones, Darmian, Fosu-Mensah, Rojo, Shaw; Fellaini, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Lingard, Mata, Pogba, Schneiderlin, Young; Ibrahimovic, Martial, Rashford, Rooney.

Phil Jones and Anthony Martial have both returned to the squad after injuries which is good to see. Overall, it’s a strong squad and that was expected from Mourinho.

Leaving Carrick in Manchester is an interesting one and probably a response to Ander Herrera‘s red card against Burnley which rules him out of our trip to Swansea.

In attack we’ve got plenty of options and it will be interesting to see if Mourinho sticks with Ibrahimovic or if he decides to switch it up with Zlatan out of goalscoring form.
