Fenerbahce 2-1 Manchester United: Player Ratings

by Sam Peoples

David de Gea 5 – Couldn’t do anything about Sow’s opener, nor Fenerbahce’s second.

Matteo Darmian 4.5 – Had so many opportunities but like United in that first half his final product was poor.

Marcos Rojo 5 – Felt his distribution from the back was poor. Plus, he just scares me.

Daley Blind 5 – Not much to say about Blind’s performance to be honest.

Luke Shaw 4.5 – Shaky opening half from Shaw, didn’t look comfortable to me. Same in the second, he didn’t look fit.

Morgan Schneiderlin 5 – Too conservative in midfield for my liking. Positive move from Jose Mourinho to bring him off for Juan Mata at half-time.

Ander Herrera 5 – Tried to press Fenerbahce but United didn’t do it as a group. Got overrun in the second half.

Paul Pogba 5 – Pinged a few cracking passes but then went off injured. Wonderful, just what we needed.

Marcus Rashford 5 – Bored of seeing him stationed on the wing now. So wasted out there.

Anthony Martial 6 – United’s most confident player in a tetchy first 45 minutes. Rooney’s dross touch robbed him of an assist. The fact he was our best player says it all given that he didn’t do too much.

Wayne Rooney 6 – All bite and no bark in the first half from Rooney. What an awful touch to ruin our best chance. Nout changed in the second half other than a rocket of a goal from him out of nowhere, what a hit.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic 5 – Looked like he just wanted to start a fight after he came on, Fenerbahce got in his head.

Juan Mata 5 – Like Henrikh, he failed to change how good we were going forward.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan 5 – Came on when it was 2-0 down and wasn’t able to add cohesiveness to an attack which was lost at seas.
