Jose Mourinho has slammed his Manchester United players for their attitude against Fenerbahce.
Man United conceded an early goal after Sow executed a brilliant bicycle kick within the opening minutes of the game, leaving supporters shocked.
The hosts went on to score a spectacular free-kick in the second-half and although Wayne Rooney found the back of the net with a long range effort, he couldn’t change the outcome of the game.
Speaking after the game, Mourinho claims his side were not mentally prepared.
“Our problems started in our attitude,” he said.
“They were playing the Champions League final and we were playing a summer friendly. That is the reality of the way the game started.
“We had moments of reaction but it is difficult for us to play a game of this difficulty with two left backs playing at centre back. It’s not possible to be dominant and strong.
“After that we had lots of creative players, our first two changes were midfield players for a striker and another creative player, we tried to have ball and create chances. We did that but we are not scoring enough goals.
“I think a team that concedes a goal after two minutes is a team that is not ready and is not mentally prepared.
“Football has to be played with the maximum desire.”
United haven’t won their past nine away fixtures in Europe but are in a good position after winning their fixtures at Old Trafford.
Mourinho’s side will be hoping to get the Premier League campaign back on track as they face Swansea on Sunday.
