Paul Scholes has urged Jose Mourinho to play Henrikh Mkhitaryan at Manchester United.
The Armenian hadn’t featured since the Manchester derby defeat, despite Mourinho previously confirming he was 100% fit.
Supporters expected to see him in action against Burnley and he was brought on against Fenerbahce in the 61 minute.
Speaking about Mkhitaryan, Scholes claims he’ll immediately improve the squad when he starts playing.
“You can’t write a signing off so early in the season, Man United paid alot of money for him and he’s only played 100 minutes,” he said.
“He needs confidence in him and Mourinho will know if his attitude is right and if he’s training well enough to play in the games.
“What we’ve seen in the past two years is that he’s a proper footballer and there’s no doubt he’ll improve this team when he starts playing.”
He was the Bundesliga Player of the Year with Borussia Dortmund, but hasn’t even received the right opportunities to prove himself in England.
Mkhitarayn would walk into our current side and hopes are we see him in action again as his permanent return to the squad will open up plenty of attacking options for Mourinho.
