Manchester United fans were impressed with Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s cameo during their side’s 2-1 defeat to Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The Armenian, who hadn’t featured in a red shirt since September 10, was thrown into the fray after 61 minutes with his side 2-0 down.
And despite entering a gloomy environment, with his side lacking any attacking potency, the 27-year-old offered plenty of enterprise going forward, making several tidy passes as Man United pushed for an equaliser.
United fans, notably delighted at seeing Mkhitaryan return, expressed their appreciation of the midfielder’s performance.

Outside of one pass, Mkhitaryan was brilliant tonight. Was looking to go forward and create chances. He needs to start over the weekend,

Henrikh Mkhitaryan played great. Yeah he gave the ball away a few times but he has to brush off the rust since he hasn't played in 2 months

I like Mkhitaryan tho. He'll come good.

Thought Mkhitaryan and Mata looked good when they came on. Players looked tired at the end of the game, hope they'll be ready for Sunday.

It should be noted that Mkhitaryan has been deemed ‘fit’ for over two weeks. Or, in other words, since the home game against Fenerbahce. That means he could have played against the Turkish side, Chelsea, Manchester City and Burnley.
But for reasons that will remain unknown to United fans across the world, Mourinho waited until his side were 2-0 down in a hostile atmosphere (whilst offering nothing going forward) to offer Mkhitaryan some much-needed game time. An absurd decision to say the least.
Nevertheless, even with every imaginable factor not working in his favour, Mkhitaryan managed to display his unquestionable class on the ball, offering a incessantly positive dynamic going forward.
United fans will be desperate to see him feature from the start against Swansea City on Sunday.
