Paul Pogba insists he was playing through an injury during Manchester United’s 3-1 victory over Swansea City.
He was forced off the pitch against Fenerbahce earlier in the week and there were doubts over whether he’d be fit enough to play at Liberty Stadium.
However, the Frenchman hit a brilliant half-volley to put United 1-0 up in the first-half and was voted as Man of the Match.
Speaking after the game, Pogba claims the Swansea goal was one of the best he’s scored.
“I think every player wanted to win this game and everyone was focused,” he said.
“We gave it our best and gave everything, the first half was unbelievable. It was one of the best first-half performances so far and that’s how we have to play, we have to give everything, we have to press all together and when we play together we play like that.
“I always say that when you go with your head the rest will follow. The recovery is not done but I was fit enough to play and the gaffer picked me after limping off against Fenerbahce.
“I think this Swansea goal is one of the best I’ve scored for Manchester United but I hope to score more goals to help the team and we win and win, carry on like that.”
It seems like everything has started to click into place for Pogba since his move to England and his impressive showing against Swansea has silenced critics.
Hopes are he can pick up from where he left off after the international break with his first game back against Arsenal.
