France coach Didier Deschamps has opened up about Jose Mourinho‘s decision to deploy Paul Pogba as Manchester United’s No.10.

The Frenchman has received criticism for his performances since arriving at Old Trafford, especially after becoming the world’s most expensive player.

Although some of his showings have been average, he’s starting to find his feet in England with an impressive showing against Burnley, where he could have picked up three to four assists and a solid Man of the Match display against Swansea where he scored one of the best goals of his career so far.

Speaking about the 23-year-old, Deschamps claims Pogba will perform better when he’s supporting central striker.

“He has played in several positions with Manchester United and with us. It also depends on the system,” he said.

“Currently, the Manchester United system is different from ours. Paul can play in many positions. If Mourinho plays Pogba in support of the central striker, it is because he believes is the best solution for him.”

Pogba has proven his versatility with the ability to fill a number of different positions, but he needs to build some consistency at Old Trafford.

Mourinho is still attempting to find his best midfield balance and once he does, there’s no doubt that he’ll be tearing the Premier League to shreds.
