Zlatan Ibrahimovic has explained why he was surprised to miss many key chances in Manchester United’s recent fixtures.
The big Swede was unable to find the back of the net against Liverpool, Chelsea and Burnley during his goal drought and was heavily criticised by supporters.
However, he scored twice during Man United’s 3-1 victory over Swansea City on Sunday evening and ended his run of six games without a goal.
Speaking about his dry spell, Zlatan claims he’s happy to start scoring once again.
“I think I could have scored a couple more goals than I have done,” he said.
“I missed pretty good chances which I didn’t see myself doing. But it’s a different game here.
“With my performance, I am happy. I know I can do more, I know the team can do more and I want to do more and I will do more.”
Zlatan was one of the most prolific strikers in the world last season at Paris Saint-Germain and although he’s suffered a rough patch of form recently, he has bounced back in perfect fashion.
He’ll always be full of confidence as a player that’s won pretty much everything there is to win, but it’s a shame we won’t see him in action against Arsenal after the international break as a result of his suspension.
