Manchester United’s Daley Blind training with the Netherlands squad

Daley Blind has been pictured working hard with the Netherlands squad ahead of the November international break.

The Netherlands will host Belgium for a friendly on November 9 before travelling to Luxembourg for a World Cup qualifier on the 13th.

Both Blind and Memphis Depay were included in Danny Blind’s 22-man squad for the second time in a row, despite the latter only playing 24 minutes for Manchester United since returning from the October international break.

The Dutchman tweeted a photo of himself putting in the hard yards ahead of Holland’s game with Belgium on Wednesday.

Blind, just like with Man United, has become a composed, reliable presence for his national side in recent times. Indeed, the parallels with the Dutch national side and United are surprisingly potent: both outfits are packed with talent but ultimately struggle when it comes to constructing an effective unit going forward, interspersing excellent performances with inexplicably poor results.

Amongst all of that, however, we find Blind – a figure of equanimity and composure, performing with the same level of intelligence and perfect timing every week, without fail, seemingly untouched by the constant chopping and changing that surrounds him on a daily basis – for both club and country.
