Juan Mata has been pictured hard at work with Spain ahead of the November international break.
Julen Lopetegui’s side host Macedonia for a World Cup qualifier on Saturday before facing England at Wembley on the 15th.
Mata was omitted from the national side last month, but has regained his placed after a series of composed performances under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
The 28-year-old posted a photo of himself taking part in a training exercise with fellow teammates earlier today.
Beneath Mata’s friendly exterior lies a genuine warrior. It is worth noting that the Spaniard, since coming to Old Trafford in January 2014, has always espoused the perfect attitude: no tantrums, no snide media comments – just a complete dedication to the cause, regardless of context.
He seems like the kind of guy that you simply cannot anger, no matter how hard you tried. If you burned Mata’s house down he’d probably just shrug, smile in that adorable way of his, and go: “It’s okay. These things happen.”
Deep down, though, this is a man with a genuine thirst for the game, and his omission from the Spain squad in October would have hurt him. Since then, however, the Spaniard has displayed nothing but pristine, tidy performances, and United fans will hope he continues in the same vein against Arsenal.
