Manchester United’s Antonio Valencia in line to return against Arsenal

Manchester United have received a major boost with news that Antonio Valencia could make his return from injury against Arsenal, according to reports.

He has enjoyed an excellent start to his career under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, but broke his arm during the EFL Cup success over Manchester City.

Valencia was expected to be out for months after posting images to social media of his cast following his operation.

However, he has made brilliant progress and could feature at Old Trafford after the international break next weekend.

Mourinho has been forced to make big changes to his defence with Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw also sidelined.

It seemed Valencia’s career at Man United was coming to an end under Louis van Gaal as he failed to make his mark on the side, but after Mourinho’s arrival during the summer, he has kickstarted his career, forcing Matteo Darmian out of his natural position.

He’s done incredibly well so far and hopes up he can keep up the excellent form once he returns from his injury.

Darmian has also taken his opportunity at Old Trafford and has proven he warrants game time with his impressive showings during Valencia’s spell on the sidelines.
