Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata insists he’s delighted with his call up to Julen Lopetegui’s Spain squad.

He will be playing at Wembley stadium when Spain play England in a friendly on Tuesday night.

Mata is back in the squad after missing October’s international fixtures and for the first time at a senior level, will be playing with both Ander Herrera and David De Gea.

Speaking about his situation, Mata claims he’s very happy to represent his country.

“It’s always a special game when you play at Wembley,” he said. “I feel it is such a great venue to play football and this time it’s against England. I know a lot of their players so it will be special for us.

“I’m always really happy to play for my country and be called up. It’s been a lot of years since I made my debut but I keep the same passion and emotion to play for my country so I am very happy and hopefully I can play.”

It’ll be interesting to see if they all play together against England as the two outfield players were unused substitutes on Saturday evening in the World Cup qualifier at home to Macedonia.
