Memphis Depay opens up about leaving Manchester United in January

Memphis Depay has opened up about a potential move away from Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Everton have confirmed their interest in signing the Dutchman, while other clubs have reportedly listed their interest.

He arrived at Old Trafford from PSV Eindhoven last summer, but has only played 20 minutes of Premier League football in four substitute appearances under Jose Mourinho this season.

Speaking about his situation, Memphis claims he’s doing his very best to pick up minutes.

“I do not know, we’ll have to see. I focus on United, I do my very best to be able to get minutes,” he said.

“I’m going back to United with a good feeling, because I have got minutes here and we won. That is the most important thing.”

Memphis showcased his worth with a spectacular performance over Luxembourg on Sunday evening, scoring twice, including a beautifully taken free-kick.

It’s been a while since Memphis has been on the scoring sheet and hopes are he can keep his confidence high for when he returns to Old Trafford and his handed the opportunity to prove his talent.

He scored his first brace for the Netherlands side and his showing will have impressed manager Danny Blind, who will most likely keep the Dutchman in the squad for the next international break.
