Juan Mata will not make a decision on his Manchester United future until the end of the season.
The Spaniard has 19 months left on his current Old Trafford contract and reports linked him with a summer transfer following Jose Mourinho‘s arrival at the club.
However, Mata has worked incredibly hard and has cemented his place in the starting XI following his impressive showings under the Portuguese boss.
Speaking about his next step, his father claims he won’t consider a change until this season closes.
“This season we have entered a new path with Mourinho,” he said.
“However, at the end of the season we will sit down and evaluate our future more seriously.”
The club are said to be relaxed over Mata’s current contract issues as there is still an option to extend his deal for a year.
Many believed a move from Old Trafford could have been on the cards after Mourinho sold the Spaniard during their time together at Stamford Bridge, but he’s been one of our best performers this season and even lead the side out as captain against Burnley.
