Everton have fuelled speculation surrounding a potential move to Everton for Memphis Depay after sharing Ander van der Meyde’s calls for the Dutchman to come to Goodison Park on their official Twitter account.
It was reported earlier this week that Toffees boss Ronald Koeman had expressed an interest in signing the exiled Manchester United winger in January.
Van Der Meyde, a former Everton and Netherlands winger, urged his fellow countryman to join Everton in order to reignite his waning career.
Everton’s official Twitter account shared the Dutchman’s thoughts to their 970,000 followers earlier today.

Seeing Memphis leave on a permanent basis would, to some, be no issue whatsoever. The 22-year-old has repeatedly failed to impose himself on this Man United side, and his performances reek of a man sapped of any fibre of confidence. He sits miles down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho, seemingly consigned to the occasional appearance off the bench.
However, the idea of a loan move for the Dutchman is an attractive prospect. Memphis desperately needs game time and confidence – two things he won’t get whilst languishing on the bench at United. A run of games and a few goals could do wonders for the winger’s entire outlook going forward under Mourinho.
