Former Manchester United winger Jesper Blomqvist believes Henrikh Mkhitaryan has all the tools to become a star under Jose Mourinho.
The 27-year-old has failed to settle in at Old Trafford since his highly-anticipated summer move from Borussia Dortmund.
He suffered an injury early into his career at Man United and following his return Jose Mourinho claimed Mkhitaryan needed to do more to earn his spot in the side.
Speaking about his situation, Blomqvist believes Mkhitaryan needs a little more time to settle in to life in England’s top flight.
“He can definitely become a star,” he said. “United is a big club and it takes longer to settle in for some players.
“Maybe Henrikh needs a little more time to settle in but, when you see how he reads the game and what he has achieved elsewhere, it’s surely only going to be a matter of time before he shows us what he can do at Old Trafford.”
Mkhitaryan is confident that he’ll be able to earn his place in the team under Mourinho, recently vowing to grow as a player and person at Man United.
He was a solid player for Dortmund and although he hasn’t been able to make his mark on the side at Old Trafford, he will undoubtedly be a deadly asset once he beings to find his feet.
