Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has ruled out Henrikh Mkhitaryan returning to the club on a loan move after his disappointing start at Manchester United.
Reports claimed the Armenian would be on his way back to the Westfalenstadion after failing to make an impact at Old Trafford.
He was last in action in early-September when Man United lost the derby to Manchester City at Old Trafford, as he was hauled off at half-time following an average showing.
Speaking about the situation, Watzke ruled out a move for Mkhitaryan.
“This option is completely excluded (from Dortmund’s transfer plans),” he said.
Mkhitarayn was outstanding for Dortmund last year and it’s a shame that he’s been left on the sidelines even though he was one of the Bundesliga’s best players.
He hasn’t been able to make the impact at United that supporters were hoping for, but once he finds his feet there is no doubt that he’ll walk into our current squad with ease.
The Armenian has been in the stands more often than he’s been in the pitch and he may be out for another game as it doesn’t seem like the Portuguese boss will be willing to re-introduce him during a must-win Arsenal clash at Old Trafford on November 19.
