Wayne Rooney set to be on the bench for Manchester United’s clash against Arsenal

Wayne Rooney looks set to be left out of Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Arsenal on Saturday, according to reports.

He has apologised after being pictured drunk at a wedding party at The Grove Hotel in Watford while on international duty, where the England squad were staying after their 3-0 World Cup qualifier victory over Scotland.

Jose Mourinho was allegedly furious with the Englishman’s decisions on Saturday night and will head into the clash without Rooney even though Zlatan Ibrahimovic is banned after picking up five yellow cards.

The Englishman has lost his automatic starter status for club and country in recent times and it seems his recent drunken antics won’t help him stay in Mourinho’s good books.

Rooney will be on the bench once again and he’ll miss the perfect opportunity to fight for his spot in the side even though he has started just one of United’s last six Premier League games.

He was allegedly fit to start even though he suffered a knee injury in the win over Scotland, but the fact that he was pictured drinking over the weekend has not helped his cause at Old Trafford.
