Gary Neville: This is what Jose Mourinho did wrong against Arsenal

Gary Neville claims Jose Mourinho‘s Manchester United back four let him down against Arsenal.

The Portuguese boss was on the right track to claim all three points through Juan Mata‘s brilliant goal, but Olivier Giroud’s late header equalised the score.

Mourinho started with a back four of Antonio Valencia, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Matteo Darmian against Arsene Wenger’s squad.

Speaking about Mourinho’s defence, Neville claims it’s far from a solid back line.

“I do like the front six. It’s got an energy about it and more pace with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford,” he said.

“With Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera in midfield, and Michael Carrick sitting, it looks more stable.

“But the back four looks nothing like a United back four.

“You’re still trying to get your head around it being a Jose Mourinho back four.

“It changes all the time – injuries and form.”

It was a disappointing result for Mourinho, after a solid team performance, United deserved to leave Old Trafford with nothing less than all three points.

The pressure will continue to mount on Mourinho’s men as United find themselves sixth in the Premier League and unable to close the gap on the top four.
