Manchester United came away from Old Trafford this weekend with another frustrating draw after dominating yet another match without winning.
Jose Mourinho‘s side were in total control against Arsenal just like they were against Stoke City and Burnley and had we won all those three games like we deserved to we’d currently be on 25 points in the league, two off Liverpool who are sitting on top. Instead, we’re eight points adrift.
Those margins right now are so small and I’m optimistic that a game where we pump a team by four or five goals in the Premier League is coming, we’re on the edge of it and I’m happy with the direction we’re heading.
As you can see from his Instagram post, Mourinho is just as optimistic. He wrote: “after a great perfomance but a bad result i had a phone call from king diego..gracias amigo.with you, with my family, with other friends, with my players and with utd amazing supporters…monday i will be ready again!!!⚽️💪”
Things are heading in the right direction under Mourinho but our finishing is letting us down, decisions are going against us and luck isn’t on our side. That’s football. But, we’re controlling games and are deserving of the wins we’re not getting.
That wasn’t the case under Louis van Gaal for a majority of games and anyone who says otherwise didn’t watch United enough. Mourinho is the right manager for us and the players are starting to click in parts but when we all, when this team plays up to the potential which it has in a fantastic squad of players, we’ll be pushing for that top spot – hopefully that turn just comes before it is out of reach.
