Jose Mourinho has issued a warning to his players at Manchester United that they must do better.

Man United are currently sat sixth in the Premier League, nine points off league leaders Chelsea.

The pressure has continued to mount against Mourinho’s men following draws against Stoke City, Arsenal and Burnley – and they will need to perform when West Ham come knocking at Old Trafford over the weekend.

Speaking about his side, the Portuguese boss claims players must improve each week to prove themselves.

“In football we have it all to prove week after week. With the players it is the same. It is not enough to say a few years ago happened this, or happened that. I played well last week, it’s not the last match it’s the next match,” he said.

“Yes there are players that have to do better, that’s normal. But for me looking back to the last game (against Arsenal), very good performance.

“You (the media) look at the individual players. You will find someone brilliant and someone not so good, but I cannot go in that direction.”

United can’t afford to lose against Feyenoord in Manchester on Thursday night in the Europa League or they risk being knocked out of Europe.

Mourinho seems confident he can turn it around and lead the side in the right direction and hopes are we can claim all three points against Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side.
