Manchester United fans were once again delighted with Antonio Valencia‘s performance during their side’s 4-1 win over West Ham United in the League Cup on Wednesday night.
The Ecuadorian was a simply spellbinding force all evening, bombing forward with reckless abandon as West Ham’s left hand side struggled to deal with his power all evening.
Man United fans were quick to heap praise on Valencia for what was another faultless performance.
Jose has made a beat out of Valencia though. He really has.

It is worth noting that Valencia, by trade, is a winger. He was signed for that purpose and was indeed utilised as an outright No.7 under Sir Alex Ferguson for several years.
With that in mind, the 31-year-old’s sheer magnificence at right back is almost hard to believe. He has, at the highest level, actually taught himself an entirely new position and mastered it. Not many right backs manage to simultaneously attack with such incessant power and defend so diligently, especially in an unnatural position.
Valencia’s capacity to perform on such a regular basis is reflective of his often ignored charm: stony faced, hardly ever smiling, as if the desire to obliterate his opponent overrides his capacity to express human emotion. He is there every week, without fail, ready to give everything. And that, above anything, is the greatest trait you can possess as a professional.
