Confirmed: Manchester United’s full squad vs FC Zorya

Jose Mourinho has named his 19-man travelling squad for Manchester United’s final Europa League match against Zorya Luhansk.

Man United flew out to Odessa on Wednesday morning ahead of Thursday’s last Group A match, a point could secure a place in the knock-out stages, but a victory could see them top the group.

Wayne Rooney is back in action after being forced to sit out Sunday’s draw at Everton due to a domestic suspension, while Eric Bailly was also named in the squad after he was on the bench at Goodison Park following his recovery from a knee injury.

Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw are unavailable as they recover from injury and although Bastian Schweinsteiger has forced his way back into the side, is currently ineligible as he was not registered in Man United’s initial Europa League squad.

Michael Carrick, Matteo Darmian, Antonio Valencia, Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin, which was surprising, however, he does still have good options at his disposal.

Here’s a look at the current travelling squad: De Gea, Romero, Johnstone; Fosu-Mensah, Jones, Bailly, Rojo, Blind, Young; Fellaini, Herrera, Pogba, Lingard, Mata, Mkhitaryan; Martial, Rashford, Rooney, Ibrahimovic.

If you were hedging your bets over on, you’d probably have not expected both Darmian and Valencia not to travel but it gives a great opportunity for Fosu-Mensah to shine. The same thing applies to Schneiderlin who everybody expected to fly out to Ukraine.

All in all, United’s squad is still more than strong enough to beat Zorya and hopefully secure top spot in our Europa League group but we’ve not made it easy for ourselves on the road in Europe with two consecutive losses. Here’s hoping that changes away in Ukraine.
