Timothy Fosu-Mensah given big chance to impress against FC Zorya

There’s one player who I feel hasn’t had enough game time this season and that’s Timothy Fosu-Mensah but the Dutch youngster is set to get his big chance on Thursday against FC Zorya.

Jose Mourinho‘s decision to leave Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia in Manchester mean Fosu-Mensah is likely to start at right-back. Personally, I can’t wait to see how he gets on.

For me, I expected Fosu-Mensah to break through way ahead of Marcus Rashford but he took his chance like a duck to water and I’m desperate for Timothy to do the same. He’s one hell of a talent and Jose Mourinho needs to make the most of him.

Valencia has played ace at right-back but I want to see Fosu-Mensah get his chances there. In an ideal world, he’d play in defensive midfield but I’m not quite sure he’s ready to take on a pivot role just yet, he’s got to develop a little bit more for that tough position.

Like Henrikh Mkhitaryan waited for a chance, Fosu-Mensah has worked for his and in Ukraine on Thursday fans will be buzzing to see how he gets on – so long as the game goes ahead that is.
