Manchester United supporters were delighted with Eric Bailly’s powerful display during their side’s 2-0 win over Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The Ivorian was sidelined for nine games after picking up a knee ligament injury against Chelsea back in October, and it was thought that he wouldn’t return to action under Jose Mourinho until after the African Cup of Nations.
However, much to the delight of supporters, he was fit in time for the clash in Odessa and the 22-year-old produced a characteristically robust display against Zorya.
Man United fans were quick to shower praise on the Ivorian.
Great to see Bailly back for @ManUtd this evening. Was excellent before injury and commanded and controlled the back 4 very well.

Considering the conditions and the fact he hasn't played for six weeks, Eric Bailly is having a stormer.

Returning after nearly two months, playing in sub-zero conditions on a bobbly, unreliable pitch, one would expect Bailly to approach such an encounter with caution.
But then again, this is Bailly. The idea of caution is not something he really understands. Unadulterated aggression, on the other hand, is something that comes naturally. Playing with optimum grit and tenacity, charging around the pitch all evening, competing for every header, attempting overhead kicks – this is what makes the Ivorian such a special talent, and United fans will be delighted to see him back ahead of such a busy Christmas schedule.
