He has enjoyed a mixed start to life at Old Trafford, but has recently scored five goals in his last four games across all competitions.
He scored a goal in the closing minutes of the game against Zorya Luhansk on Thursday night and will be hoping to impress against Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.
Speaking about the big Swede, he claims Ibrahimovic is the right man to take Man United forward.
“I think his biggest strength is his personality,” he said. “Nothing fazes him. He’s up for every game, he plays in every game. He’s 35 years of age, you know all of a sudden we’re writing off Rooney at 31, this guy is 35.
“He’s a terrific goalscorer. He’s missed a couple of chances this year and at times he’s struggled to get into our Premier League pace of the game I think, but there’s no questioning this guy.
“He’s won championships wherever he’s been in world football and he’s a superstar. He’s just the personality I felt that Manchester United needed to push them forward and I think he’s been a really good signing as far as United are concerned.”
Jose Mourinho has only won five league matches so far this season and must win against Tottenham to try and close the gap on the top four.
There is plenty of ground to cover as United trail leaders Chelsea by 13 points and a win against Tottenham would be a great way to bounce back from a string of disappointing league results.
