Gary Neville was full of praise for Henrikh Mkhitaryan after his impressive performance in Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The Armenian scored the only goal of the game and has now registered two assists and two goals in his last four appearances back with the first-team.
He scored his first goal for the club over Zorya in the Europa League on Thursday night and followed up with his first goal in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
Speaking about his impact during Sky Sports‘ coverage of the game, Neville claimed he has played exceptionally well.
“He’s been fantastic. It’s a good day with a disappointing end,” he said.
“He’s played so well. Along with Marcos Rojo he was the best Manchester United player in this match.
“He’s been excellent but I have to say, Rojo at the back has been very good as well for Manchester United.”
Mkhitaryan raced through on goal in the first-half and gave Hugo Lloris no chance to save his attempt on goal with a powerful finish in the 29th minute at Old Trafford.
His afternoon took a turn for the worse later on as he was carried off on a stretcher in the second-half after suffering an apparent ankle injury during a clash with Danny Rose.
It was a shame to see his night end that way, but hopes are the injury was nothing serious and he’ll be back in action soon.
