Antonio Valencia suspended for Manchester United’s trip to Crystal Palace

Manchester United full-back Antonio Valencia will miss Wednesday’s Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace through suspension.

He picked up his fifth yellow of the season in Sunday’s 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur thanks to Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s first-half strike.

The Ecuadorian is the fifth Man United player to pick up a ban after collecting five yellow cards as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marouane Fellaini, Paul Pogba and Wayne Rooney have already been left out.

His challenge against Danny Rose followed cards against Stoke City, Manchester City and West Ham United in both the Premier League and the EFL Cup.

Valencia has been of our best performers so far this season, kickstarting his career under Jose Mourinho and will be a massive blow for Man United.

He has continuously performed well, even when others around him haven’t been on top form and has worked very hard following his return from surgery.

Hopes are Man United can build on their much-needed 1-0 win over Spurs, however they will have to do so without Valencia and Mkhitaryan as the Armenian has been ruled out after being forced off on a stretcher in the second-half.
