Michael Carrick has praised the patience shown by Henrikh Mkhitaryan after he waited for his time to impress at Manchester United.
He continued his run of form with the match-winner against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Mkhitaryan has contributed two goals and two assists in four games since his return and allowed Jose Mourinho‘s men to end their run of three Premier League draws.
Speaking about the Armenian, Carrick was full of praise for his impact on the side.
“He’s been fantastic,” he said.
“He’s such a quality player, he’s got so many attributes. He’s so clever and so talented and he’s such a nice lad, his attitude is top class.
“He’s bided his time and I just hope his injury’s not too bad.”
He struggled to make an early impression on Jose Mourinho following his summer move from Borussia Dortmund, but has been spectacular in recent weeks and found his first goal for the club in the Europa League win over Zorya Luhansk mid-week.
He was carried off the pitch on a stretcher late on after clutching his ankle following a collision with Danny Rose and hopes are he’ll be back in action soon, with Mourinho confirming he’ll be back in action before the end of the year.
