Danny Murphy has hailed Henrikh Mkhitaryan as a top player following his return for Manchester United.
He initially struggled after completing his move from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window, but has recently been re-introduced into the first-team by Jose Mourinho.
Mkhitaryan has contributed two goals and two assists in four games back in the first-team and has picked up three Man of the Match awards in the process.
Speaking about his talent, Murphy insists he has all the attributes to become a solid player at Old Trafford.
“He is a super player. He can see a pass. He is sharp and he is strong,” he said.
“I can’t understand why he hasn’t adapted more quickly. He has put some blame on himself which is nice to see a player taking some responsibility. Hopefully we will see the best of him now.”
It’s a shame that he picked up an injury against Tottenham Hotspur and had to end his night in a stretcher, especially after he scored the only goal of the game, but Mourinho has confirmed he’ll be back in time for Christmas.
He had only just begun to find his feet and his absence will be a massive blow for the side but there’s no doubt that he’ll re-claim his place in the starting XI as soon as he’s fully fit.
