Ander Herrera has revealed he wants to continue playing at Manchester United and will fight to stay at the biggest club in England.
Man United suffered a mixed start to life in the Premier League under Jose Mourinho, but have won their last three league matches with Herrera playing a vital role in the middle of the park.
Speaking about his plans, Herrera has outlined his desire to continue his career at Old Trafford.
“Yes, but you never know because if I want to keep playing for United you have to play very well because United is the biggest club in England,” he said.
“The club has the capacity to bring any players here so you have to always be at your highest level if you want to keep playing for this club. It’s not easy but I hope I can and I will fight for it.
“Everyone always asks me that about the differences and to be honest I don’t think there is a big difference, football is football everywhere and the good players are good players everywhere.
“Maybe the rhythm of the game here is a little bit higher sometimes. In Spain and other countries they think more about tactics or defending the goal, but here in England everyone wants to attack and that’s good for the fans as well.”
He arrived at Old Trafford in 2014 and has only just established himself as an indispensable member of the squad under Jose Mourinho this season.
Herrera earned his first cap for Spain in November’s friendly against England and seems to understand there is still work left to do.
