Tony Cascarino believes Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on his way to becoming one of the Premier League’s greatest signings.
If the big Swede is able to maintain his current form he’ll have a vital role at Old Trafford, especially considering that he has 10 goals in his last nine games for Man United.
He arrived at Old Trafford on a free transfer in the summer after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired, but he’s performed better than expected and has done a brilliant job of silencing his critics.
Speaking about his impact at the club, Cascarino claims he could be the key man to guide man United to a title triumph.
“It’s only December and he has already proved all his doubters wrong with 16 goals,” he said.
“He is, as José Mourinho, the United manager, admitted, “undroppable”, even at 35.
“If he carries this form into the rest of the season and stays at United to guide them to a title triumph he could take Campbell’s spot at the top of this list (of top signings).”
He endured one of the worst goal-scoring droughts of his senior career earlier in the campaign, but has certainly proved doubters wrong with his impressive displays under Jose Mourinho.
Zlatan scored a brace West Bromwich Albion last week at The Hawthorns and scored the winner at Crystal Palace just days earlier, proving his importance to United.
Hopes are he can maintain his form and keep fit because as Mourinho has already stated, his current performances are making him impossible to leave out of the squad.
