Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has been named in Ivory Coast’s provisional squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.
He has been left on the sidelines at Old Trafford with an injury, but should be fit enough to fly out with the Ivory Coast squad in January.
The club could be set to lose his services for up to four weeks and after considering his impact at the club since his arrival in the summer, it’ll be a massive blow.
BBC Sports reporter John Bennett confirmed his inclusion in the provisional squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.

His absence would have had a huge impact on our results as he was one of our best performers following his transfer from Villarreal, however Mourinho’s makeshift defence have managed to hold down the line.
Although he is set to be out of action, the main hope is that Bailly is fit enough to continue during the competition and once he returns, as he has struggled with a host of injuries during his time at Old Trafford.
Bailly is an incredible defender and at 22, it’s scary to think about how good he can go on to become in the Premier League under Mourinho’s guidance.
