Manchester United fans were left in a state of awe following Marcus Rashford‘s performance from the bench during their side’s 2-0 win over West Ham United.
The youngster, with his side struggling to break down the hosts, came on after 58 minutes and made an instant impact, teeing up Juan Mata for Man United’s opener following a superb run down the left hand side.
United fans were quick to laud what was another magnificent performance from the 19-year-old.
Having Rashford as a super sub to run at tired legs is immense. MOTM with 30 mins on the pitch.

That pass from Rashford for the opener is sensational. Incredibly mature head for a 19-year-old.

So much more to Rashford than goals. If you’re not seeing it, it’s your loss. Great amount of dimension to his game – and at just 19. #MUFC

West Ham activated full-on ‘West Ham mode’ after Sofiane Feghouli was controversially sent off in the first half, putting two banks of four behind the ball, looking to hit Mourinho’s men on the counter – a strategy was reminiscent of the Sam Allardyce era.
And just like those many games against Allardyce sides down the years, this was a frustrating, dogged affair. Mourinho’s men, for all their domination, couldn’t find their way past the home side. I’d resigned myself to a galling 1-0 defeat, probably via a late Andy Carroll header.
But Mourinho sensed an opportunity. With West Ham sitting back and feeling the effects of playing with ten men just 48 hours after their last game, introducing Rashford made perfect sense. The youngster’s raw energy and fearlessness was simply too much for a tiring back four, and United duly came away with the points.
