Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has won the PFA Fans’ Premier League Player of the Month award for December.
There were nearly 64,000 votes as he beat the likes of Adam Lallana and Cesar Azpilicueta, with the big Swede claiming 24,092 of the votes.
He has been in brilliant form, scoring six goals from seven matches in December and playing a vital role in Man United’s recent performances.
Hopes are he can maintain his impressive displays as Jose Mourinho has confirmed his indispensable form has made him impossible to rest at Old Trafford.
Ibrahimovic’s case at Old Trafford is unlike any other, at 35, he opted to move from France into one of the most competitive league’s in the world and has proven his talent on the main stage in England.
He sits just a goal behind Chelsea’s Diego Costa on the top of the list of highest scorers in the Premier League, ahead of the likes of Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez.
There were hopes he’d be able to cope with the intensity of football in England in the latter stages of his career, but Zlatan has once again smashed expectations with his spectacular performance at United under Jose Mourinho.
