Patrice Evra wants to return to Manchester United and end his career at Old Trafford, according to the Times.
The Frenchman left Man United for Juventus in 2014 after winning 15 trophies in his eight-year spell at Old Trafford, departing with five Premier League titles and one Champions League trophy to his name.
He helped Juventus win back-to-back Serie A titles and reach the 2015 Champions League final, but lost his place in the starting XI this campaign to Alex Sandro.
Evra has started just nine games this season and although six of them were in the Champions League, he has allegedly told friends he’d have no hesitation leaving if United came calling for him in the January transfer window.
The only worry about Evra is that he left Old Trafford as his performances started to dip and a return to England could be difficult to adapt to, especially as he enters the latter stages of his career.
However, from an experience perspective, it would be superb for United, as his arrival at Old Trafford would re-install the winning mentality into our backline, as they lack the presence of a leader.
It’ll be interesting to see how the situation plays out, but there’s no doubt that it’d be brilliant to see him around Old Trafford once again.
