Nemanja Vidic believes Zlatan Ibrahimovic is driving Manchester United forward this season.
The big Swede has been in fine form for Manchester United since his arrival on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, scoring 14 goals in his first 20 Premier League games.
He continued his impressive goal scoring record for Man United when he found the equaliser in Man United’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool, scoring or assisting a goal in 12 of his last 13 appearances for Man United (13 goals, 4 assists).
Speaking about Ibrahimovic’s impact, former United captain Vidic has been left seriously impressed.
“First of all I have to say his motivation, he’s 35-years-old, it’s incredible,” he said.
“I think he keeps himself fit, he’s professional, and his 18 goals in 28 matches this season is a great record.
“He is the one driving Manchester United forward.
“Other players have to step up with the goals if United want to keep winning their matches.
“But well done to him, he is playing really well this season.”
He’s been brilliant since his arrival at the club and it’s hard to believe Man United managed to sign him on a free transfer.
I’m happy that both parties have already publicly spoken about extending his contract next year, because Zlatan has proven he’s still one of the best in the world.
There were doubts over whether he’d be able to perform in the Premier League, but perform he has as he sits at the top of the top scorers table alongside Diego Costa and Alexis Sanchez with 14 goals.
