The youngster enjoyed a positive start to the season but quickly came under fire from Mourinho following Man United’s 3-1 defeat to Watford in September.
Shaw hasn’t featured in the first team since United’s 4-1 win over West Ham United in the League Cup back in late November, despite being declared at 100% fit prior to the Boxing Day clash with Sunderland.
And according to the Independent‘s Miguel Delaney, the man responsible for revealing that a verbal agreement between United and Atletico Madrid had been reached for Antoine Griezmann, Mourinho has grown frustrated with Shaw’s lack of progress at Old Trafford and will offload the Englishman this summer.
It was also noted that Shaw’s inability to fully engage with what Mourinho is implementing at United has actually led to several first team members talking to 21-year-old privately.
This latest episode of discontent with Shaw adds to an already expansive catalogue of contretemps with Mourinho this season.
The Portuguese publicly lambasted the youngster following United’s 3-1 win over Swansea City in early November, questioning his decision to pull out of the first team squad at the last minute due to being in pain, and the latest report suggests that Mourinho’s patience has grown wafer thin in recent weeks.
