Thierry Henry insists he’s always been a fan of Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Armenian arrived at Old Trafford in the summer transfer window and initially struggled to cope with the intensity of the Premier League under Jose Mourinho, making just one Premier League start in August, September and October due to fitness problems and a lack of form.
He has returned to the starting XI in brilliant form and has cemented his place in the side, claiming three goals and three assists in his last 10 appearances across all competitions.
Speaking about his situation at the club, Henry was full of praise for Mkhitaryan.
“I’ve always been a fan. He has come alive with Man United and hopefully he’s going to be a good player for them,” Henry said.
Mkhitaryan struggled at first and Mourinho deserves praise for the way that he’s managed the Armenian’s talent and eased him into life in England, even when supporters were frustrated with his exclusion from the match day squads.
Hopes are he can continue to maintain his impressive form as he’s a brilliant player for the side and injects a serious attacking threat into the squad with his presence on the pitch.
