Rooney’s free-kick in injury time gave Man United a draw in a game we deserved to win and also made Rooney our highest ever goalscorer with his 250th goal. It was a wonderful moment for Rooney in that respect.
As for Herrera, he’s just a bit of a barmy reed isn’t he?
It’s like when Herrera started incessantly banging the inside of a dugout in one game under Louis van Gaal after United scored. His affiliation with the club goes deeper than a paycheque and I am not sure there are many footballers who you can say that about any more.
Maybe we’re looking at our current and future captains of the club in this picture because in the squad right now I can’t see anybody I’d rather see replace Rooney as United’s captain once he does leave the club.
