Eric Bailly makes early Manchester United return from Africa Cup of Nations

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly could be back in action for Sunday’s FA Cup game against Wigan Athletic.

The 22-year-old was unavailable for the majority of January due to his commitments with Ivory Coast, but they were eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations after they drew their first two Group C matches and were unable to close out their last clash against Morocco.

This means Bailly will soon be available for Man United once again and it’ll come as welcome news to Jose Mourinho as he was one of our best performers when he first arrived at the club.

He made a brilliant start at Old Trafford following his move from Villarreal, but has made just two Premier League starts since injuring his knee in a 4-0 defeat to Chelsea on October 23.

Mourinho has coped well with his absence, as Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo have been performing miracles in the centre of defence, something I thought I’d never be able to write.

However, his return will seriously boost the squad as he’s a massive defensive talent with the ability to take control of Mourinho’s backline.
