Sir Alex Ferguson: Jose Mourinho is doing a great job at Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson believes Jose Mourinho has done a great job during his time at Manchester United.

He’s been tasked with bringing the glory days back to Old Trafford, and while the club have gotten off to a mixed start under the Portuguese boss, performances have started to look up as the team continue to mould with his tactics.

Man United currently sit sixth in the Premier League, but fans, players and the manager finally have the right belief that the club deserve to be higher, and with Mourinho at the helm, it’s only a matter of time before everything clicks.

Speaking about Mourinho, Sir Alex insists he’s done really well to transform the club’s fortunes.

“I think he has done really well. It is like a player coming to Manchester United. It is not easy coming and transforming the club’s fortunes from my time, it is not easy,” he said.

“I thought Louis van Gaal did a good job and I think Jose is doing a great job. He has got to grips with the club – you can see that. The team is playing really well and he has been very unlucky. He has had six draws I think, 1-1 – and every game he has battered that team.

“I think without all of those draws, they would be challenging Chelsea. That is the unfortunate part, but he has got to live with that but I think he will be inspired by the progress of the team.”

The side are now unbeaten in their last 12 league games, winning seven of those fixtures, and following their recent form there’s a very good chance they could finish among the top four this campaign.

Mourinho is the right man to guide United forward and although some results haven’t favoured United, we’ve always looked like winning under his guidance.
