Manchester United fans were left nonplussed with Jesse Lingard‘s performance against Hull City in the League Cup Semi-final at the KC Stadium.
He was able to get the ball forward with his pace, but continuously lacked the end product in the first half. Here’s what fans on social media had to say about Lingard’s performance.
Swear Jesse Lingard will be 34 and still be labelled as a "young local lad with potential". Absolute nothing player.

The bad players are really standing out. Darmian is useless. Smalling & Lingard's ability on the ball is awful. Rojo, a liability. #mufc

If Jesse Lingard had a good first touch that would've been a beautiful goal

That's Lingard in a nutshell. Brilliant movement and then fails at the vital moment.

His biggest impact came when he found Marcos Rojo with a cross in the second-half, with the Argentine hitting the bar with a header, and to be honest his second half was much improved. That being said, there was still plenty of anger poured out towards him.
Lingard came off for Wayne Rooney in the 70th minute and following his showing, we may well see Henrikh Mkhitaryan back in action out wide against Wigan Athletic, or maybe Martial who has been missing for two games.
For one reason or another, Lingard gets a lot of hate aimed his way. He might have scored the winner in the FA Cup but a lot of United fans really don’t think he’s good enough to be at the club. As you can see from the reaction, a lot want him sold in the summer.
What do you think about Lingard? It’s a subject which certainly divides United fans.
