Anthony Martial’s relationship with Jose Mourinho is at an all-time low – report

Anthony Martial‘s relationship with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United has reached an all-time low in recent weeks, according to reports.

It was reported prior to Man United’s 1-1 draw with Stoke – a game Martial missed, despite being fully fit – that the Frenchman was disappointed with his lack of game time at Old Trafford.

He was once again omitted from the squad ahead of United’s League Cup semi-final clash with Hull City on Thursday, prompting many into questioning his role under Mourinho.

And according to The Times‘ James Gheerbrant, the youngster is unhappy with Mourinho for publicly criticising him for missing an opportunity to impress in games against Hull and Liverpool.

However, it has also been reported by Sky Sports that Martial, contrary to widespread precariousness surrounding his current predicament, is happy at United and doesn’t want to leave.

What we have here is a rare – but not unheard of – case of conflicting reports: a situation where one report has to be wrong by law of logical necessity. Kind of like when you were presented with two possible answers during a lesson, with one being right and the other completely wrong, and you have to just sort of guess and pray you don’t make a complete fool of yourself.

Supporters will gain a clearer overview of the Martial saga during United’s game against Wigan Athletic on Sunday. Mourinho has already confirmed that the Frenchman will receive a chance to start, noting that a “magnificent” performance would see him re-assert himself on the starting XI.
