Manchester United fans were full of praise for Bastian Schweinsteiger following their side’s 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup fourth round.
The German, making his first start in over a year, recovered from a rusty start to take complete control of the game at the base of midfield, claiming a goal and assist as Jose Mourinho‘s men cruised to a comfortable victory.
Man United fans were quick to shower praise on the 32-year-old for what was a complete performance against the Latics.
Bastian Schweinsteiger becomes the first German player to score for ManUtd at Old Trafford.

Schweinsteiger forced his way out of the wilderness to cross like David Beckham and score overhead kicks. Hero.

Man of the Match: Bastian Schweinsteiger. Welcome back.

Schweinsteiger couldn’t help but grin from ear to ear after netting United’s fourth of the game, and you can understand why.
He was, after all, consigned to the wilderness by Mourinho over the summer. The German had to fight for months, spending countless hours training on his own, like a youngster trying to make his name at a big club, before finally being promoted to the first team back in November.
But the work didn’t end there: Schweinsteiger, even in the face of complete disregard from his manager, continued to work like a professional, always with that same buoyant attitude, and he finally received his reward for months of pain and dedication on Sunday.
