Jose Mourinho has confirmed he will make a number of changes to Manchester United’s side for today’s FA Cup Fourth Round tie with Wigan Athletic.
Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw are going to play against Wigan having both been out of the side for separate reasons, with Martial currently underperforming in Mourinho’s eyes while Shaw has had to contend with injury woes since November.
“I played Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard [at Hull]. In the game before, I played Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. In the next match, I will play Martial. They have to fight and win positions in relation to their performances.
“I have to read the situation and decide [about Schweinsteiger]. We don’t have many midfield players – I played three [on Thursday]. Marouane Fellaini was on the bench and Basti stayed in Manchester so, normally, he comes into the squad.”
It sounds like we could well see Bastian Schweinsteiger involved in some capacity as well because of a lack of options in the squad, although if you ask me Timothy Fosu-Mensah is a far better option in a defensive midfield role.

Liverpool crashed out against Wolves and Spurs had to wait until the last seconds to beat Wycombe Wanderers, so there has been some FA Cup magic already in the fourth round but all I want is a horrible game for the neutral.
United haven’t been at their best in our last three fixtures and we need to get back on track. Hopefully that starts with a win over Wigan today which is carried into our next Premier League game against Hull City.
Kick-off today is at 4pm and we’ll have all the coverage as usual.
